Blog   Market day in Bundeena

Article by: Bundeena RSL

On the first Sunday of every month Bundeena plays host to “Market Day Music & Art Trail Day”.

Why not make a day of it and catch the ferry from Cronulla (catch the train to Cronulla from the City if you like) and enjoy a leisurely twenty minute ride as you putt along the hacking river towards Bundeena.

Just metres up the hill are the Bundeena markets located opposite the main shops. Here you will be spoilt for choice as there is a variety of stalls ranging from jewellery stores to clothing to the famous Irish soda breads from Bundeena’s own Paddy the Baker

Following the markets head on up and walk the Bundeena Art trail, where you can visit Bundeena artists at home in their own working studios. There are several sensational artists on this trail such as watercolour expert Wanda Stafford (studio 11)  and internationally renowned portrait artist Jai Wei Shen (studio 8).

After making your way along the studios of the art trail, head on back down the hill towards the ferry and stop in to drink in the views at Bundeena RSL. With live acoustic music every market day from 1pm and fantastic food on offer from their brand new head chef, you can’t go wrong.

Finish your day with a walk along one of Bundeena’s many stunning beaches and then head on back to the wharf to catch the ferry to Cronulla.

It’s hard to believe this little piece of paradise is only just over an hour from the centre of Sydney. So what are you waiting for? Plan your next day out to be at Bundeena for market day music & art trail Sunday!!

Note: Bundeena RSL is currently closed. Keep up to date with progress of their rebuild here.
